SN live in Japan – Day 2

Today was a very long day. It started with lunch at Qayyum’s house in Chiba. We then took a train to Tokyo. The first destination was Akihabara, better known as the Electric City of Tokyo. If you are a gadget maniac, this would definitely be your heaven on earth. I’m not much of a gadget person, so it was nothing but another photography opportunity. All I can say is that Japan is definitely a well developed and modern country with the latest in technological advances.

I was with Zack and Hafiz today. After Akibahara, we moved on to Shibuya, another must-see place in Tokyo. Everyday, literally millions of people cross the road. During off-peak period, there are thousands of people crossing that famous crossroad every minute. I didn’t spend much time there as I had a scheduled dinner meeting with the biggest photography community in Japan (PSJ) organized by the Malaysian Embassy, JPA and MSAJ. It was a fruitful meeting between two countries, with conversation centering on photography and tourism. Yutaka Ohiro San, Emmey Takahashi San, Sachiko Nakata San and Kamiya Kyoko San from PSJ as well as the Director from the Malaysian Embassy, and the Counsellor and Director of Tourism Malaysia were there to lend their support for the program.

Tomorrow, I will be having my first workshop outside South East Asia. My next destination will be Moscow this coming April. InsyaAllah, I’ll be in Japan again soon.

SN Live in Tokyo – Day 1

Alhamdulillah I landed safely at Narita, Tokyo this afternoon. Tokyo is still experiencing winter. Temperature is still around 2-10 degrees celcius. Hafiz & Apeng who are currently studying here for their post-grad picked me up at the airport. Hafiz is currently my host for the “SN live in Tokyo” workshop in Shibuya Tokyo. My thanks go to the Malaysian Embassy & MSAJ for their generous support for this program.

What was surprising was the fact that the embassy had arranged a dinner meeting with PSJ (Photographic Society of Japan) – a friendship meeting between Malaysia-Japan Photography community. I’m here under the ticket of MAPA (Malaysia Academy of Photography Arts). The first day is done and I’m glad everything went well and wonderful. Hafiz and I are now planning for a casual shoot around Tokyo. I’m looking forward to that and more pictures will be updated here. For more pictures, click on the link to my facebook fan club below.

Till then…enjoice!

Hi all, I’m leaving for Tokyo this week. I’m planning to provide photographic updates of my trip in this blog or at least through my fan club facebook. Come and invite your friends to join and follow this “gonna-be-fantastic” trip. This is going to be my first trip to Japan. 5 years ago, I almost made it there. Unfortunately, due to my client’s financial problem, the trip was cancelled.

Kenyataan Maaf Terbuka – SN Vs Press Photographer

Salam hormat

Azzril & Nabilah (Full Entry) – Cyberview Lodge by SN

POINT TO PONDER

I’m a photographer and I’m just like any others. I’m a human being hence…I’m not perfect. If you happen to hire me, expect 60% and if I give you 90% you will be very happy. If you put the expectation at 100%, if I managed to get just 99%, you will be very upset. There are some pictures in others’ wedding will not be in your wedding…even you adore it so much. Bear in mind, there are pictures in your wedding that others don’t have. So…enjoy your wedding!

MY NOTE:

I enjoyed so much shooting this wedding. It was about 2 months ago. I thing I like this couple is because they let my idea go freely. Night photography outdoor is 10 times harder than day time. That was the 2nd time I shoot for Ibrahim’s family.

For more pictures of this wedding, kindly click my facebook fan club banner at the bottom of this entry. There you can see hundred of the photos from this wedding. I still owe a fantastic dinner function. It was fantastic…especially the first dance moment. According to Muntaj, the first dance was practically switzerland culture. I loive it!

Enjoice!

Charity Photography Workshop

Alhamdulillah, a few weeks ago, we (CandidSyndrome team) went to Rumah Pengasih Warga Prihatin, Kajang for our annual photography workshop. RPWP is shelter for underprivileged kids (Asnaf). This time around, we managed to gather around 100 participants not only from RPWP but also from other places.

The workshop started around 10am (1 hour behind schedule) as the participants from Rumah Hope were unable to find their way to RPWP. It was a multiracial program, by the way. As the main trainer, I was happy that Canon agreed not only to participate but also to be our main sponsor. Canon sponsored 13 unit of cameras for our use during the workshop. Last year, with only 3 cameras which had to be shared among 40 people, the kids has very limited practice sessions. The rest just had to be contented with their PAPER CAMERA (it was not even a pin-hole camera but it was definitely a fun toy for them to play around with while waiting for their turn to use the camera). So, there were 13 cameras altogether + 5 cameras on loan by CS to the participants. There were 18 groups altogether with 5-6 pax per group.

We taught children with autisme, dyslexia, down syndrome as well as other normal kids in the “Asnaf” group. Below is a picture of them taken last year with the paper cameras. Thanks to Canon, this year they were able to play with the real camera.

Basically, we didn’t teach much on manual setting as most of them used the Canon P&S without manual setting. What we did was to focus on the framing, composition, color, lines and other elements in the art of seeing. My thanks go to Deejay Azrene, Radio 24 for highlighting this program through a live telephone interview that day.

It was fun, it was fantastic, the kids were happy and we are happy. We look forward to experiencing that kind of enjoyment again.
