My father (Wak Nang) with my little Orked. I shoot this picture in Lindau (A lake that separate Switzerland, Austria and Germany. Originally back lighted and I love this picture.
This picture I took in Colmar Tropicale, Pahang a few months back.
That’s my little Orked with her Atuk (my father) near a camping site at Munich Germany (below) and 3rd picture is my dad. Both of them really had good time throughout 20 days in Europe. My dad (Wak Nang) never been outside of the country and that was his first time stepping his feet to other countries. Seriously guys, if you still have parents no matter from whatever background, it doesnt have to be in Europe to please them well. If you can spend only 3-4 days holiday around Malaysia that will be more than enough for them. In the end…after we grew-up, how many days that we really spend time together with them? (stay, cook, walk, touring, dinner, lunch together). Too late for my arwah emak, but still I have a father and his new companion (mak tiri) now.
My daughter is all the reasons why I’m getting so intimate in shooting kids photos again. There are few mothers already feel tempted in hiring me for shooting their kids before. However, I preferred to sit back and enjoy shooting my own baby. I did a few kids photography before, then I realized, I’m not into the passion of shooting kids at that time. Then I stopped. Orked changed the whole things and now, I traveled around and if I found kids, then I will shoot them (with my camera lah). I just can’t stop myself from doing that. Well again, if someone want to hire me for kids photography now…I will consider to do so with a few terms 😉 heheheh. Btw, it’s not an easy job to shoot them right hahahaha.
HOW TO TRAIN A CAMERA FRIENDLY BABY
I grew up from my baby to my childhood then to my teenage time and I collected less than 20 pictures. That’s bad right? Not everyone can afford to have that since film was expensive. It simply cost people RM12 and the development of 1 roll can go up to RM15. So, RM27 is good enough to buy food for us for 10 days (for my family – my parents and 4 brothers). Now, we’re very luck, technology make it all simple and cheap. Grab this advantage to collect more and more images of your kids from their 1 minute old.
When I showed my daughter pictures at her blog, people like to say…”Wahh, she’s so good in posing for camera”. The actual fact is, she didn’t pose for the camera, she just be like a baby and respond the eyes & expression to the camera. How do I do that?
It was a simple training. I just shoot her from 1 minute old non stop for most of the days and weeks, and after shooting sometime I’ll show her the pictures. We never know that she’s actually picking up that as her learning input, it just that…she can’t tell us yet. She can’t talk…but the lesson transmitted. From time to time, I can see her responded to the camera with a nice camera attitude. This is very tricky right? Start early and you’ll be happier. Imagine, you hired a child photographer for RM1-5k per session (let say), then what you’ll get is just a series of improper portrait. because your kids doesn’t know how to react in front of the camera. Last time, when I shoot kids photography, I used to spend 2-4 hours introducing myself with them, play Lego, play barbie dolls, accompany them to watch barney and spongebob squarepants and I can only shoot my first image after the lunch. Woww…it cost a loooottt of time for that. Else…the pictures will be just like another snapshots 😉
Ok everbody? Enjoice!
