Today was a very long day. It started with lunch at Qayyum’s house in Chiba. We then took a train to Tokyo. The first destination was Akihabara, better known as the Electric City of Tokyo. If you are a gadget maniac, this would definitely be your heaven on earth. I’m not much of a gadget person, so it was nothing but another photography opportunity. All I can say is that Japan is definitely a well developed and modern country with the latest in technological advances.
I was with Zack and Hafiz today. After Akibahara, we moved on to Shibuya, another must-see place in Tokyo. Everyday, literally millions of people cross the road. During off-peak period, there are thousands of people crossing that famous crossroad every minute. I didn’t spend much time there as I had a scheduled dinner meeting with the biggest photography community in Japan (PSJ) organized by the Malaysian Embassy, JPA and MSAJ. It was a fruitful meeting between two countries, with conversation centering on photography and tourism. Yutaka Ohiro San, Emmey Takahashi San, Sachiko Nakata San and Kamiya Kyoko San from PSJ as well as the Director from the Malaysian Embassy, and the Counsellor and Director of Tourism Malaysia were there to lend their support for the program.
Tomorrow, I will be having my first workshop outside South East Asia. My next destination will be Moscow this coming April. InsyaAllah, I’ll be in Japan again soon.
