Me at KLCC – by Canon

I’ve been invited to give my thought on my experience using Canon system. Thanks for the honour! I’ve been using Canon for the past 1 year. In 4 years career in photography, I’ve been approached by 1 well-known brand in manufacturing Camera to be their spokesperson. The offer was good including the possibilities in using their top-end camera like your own camera and their range of lenses. Unfortunately, they weren’t able to answer this question…

“Do I have to say it’s good eventhough it’s not and can I share both the good and bad thing about your camera instead of always sharing about the good thing?”

Just because of this question, I have to say sorry (sambil hantuk2 kepala ke dinding…kalau tak dapat camera free). It’s different with Canon. They didn’t appoint anyone to be their ambassador. But, they serve me very well and again…I can share whatever good & BAD about their product. Practically…nothing is perfect. But I hate to tell people a lie. Until today, when Canon invited me to share my experience, I’m so much happy to accept it (eventhough I’m still pay for any purchase with them) but I’m very happy, at least I can tell the truth about their system. So far, I live happily with Canon system 😉

This are the detail about my session;

Time : 1.30-2.15pm (45 minutes on stage)

Date : 1st June 2008

Venue : KLCC, Concourse

Bila kita nak give-up, pikirkan cerita ini

Gambar Hiasan : Semalam Udey ajak semua pakai smart2 harini pasal blazer budak2 CS buat kat Bali last month tak pakai2 lagik.

Travelog 3: Nanga Kesit Longhouse, Lubuk Antu Sarawak – by Saiful Nang

There’s something about this perahu. Some headhunter came home with head, some came with badly injured but still with a head and the worst part, they weren’t return.

Aki with another guide to an Austrian tourist busy in preparing the dinner. They cooked well there. Ikan bawal masak masam manis, ayam masak kari, sayur dan ulam2 hutan yang sgt sedapp sehingga menjilat kaki (Selipar pun sedap kalau dah lapar)

This time, rice wasn’t cooked in the bamboo anymore. They have a proper kitchen here. For those who wish to have halal food, u just need to bring the raw chicken or beef to this kitchen and u can cook it yourself (if not your guide)

Yummyyyy!!! One of the dishes. Ayam masak Kari cooked by Aki. We filled the stomach like we never eat before. After the dinner, we went to the longhouse for “Ngajat Dance” (A traditional dance performed by the longhouse citizen)

Tarian Ngajat 1

Tarian Ngajat 2

Ngajat Dancers. I’ve been informed that this dance is a Spiritual Ritual performed during the harvest festival. And further, this ritual will also call an unusual strength to the dancer until they able to lift a “Lesung Kayu” just by using their teeth. 1 day before I left Kuching for this Longhouse. I went for a dinner just across the waterfront. There I had a change to perform a Ngajat dance and yeahh…I managed to lift a “Lesung Kayu” by my gigi tau (But not the heavy one hahahhaa…because that one utk show sahaja)

I mentioned about this right? This is a real human skull placed in the Longhouse “Ruai Rumah”. They put it on the ceiling and visible to whoever walk under it.

After Ngajat dance and some Tuak has been served (to those Austrian tourist yg minum) then they started to show their handicrafts. Some of it I see it very original and really fine. Bu tbe carefull, I saw 1 with a pricetag. Because they bought it outside and bring it to the longhouse and make it look like original made by their hands 😉

SURPRISEE!!! This is the view inside the longhouse. We were invited to visit to the “Tuai Rumah
house. Don’t be surprised! They have broadband connection there 😉

Undilah Parti Cap Ayam!

We were hungry after the Ngajat performance. Then, Zamrin cooked us 8 packets of Maggi! Good enuff for us to sleep well that night. Next morning, there’ll be a PHOTOHUNTING started by 5.30am. Wait until u see the final episode of Nanga Kesit Longhouse Travelog.

Till then, ENJOICE!

Brainless Tought

Dari komen seorang pelawat yang bermasalah dgn entry “I bought it Myself”…

………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….

A’kum SN,

Semua yang sokong u pon kebanyakan either “girlish” atau your ex-clients. And semua yg browse ur blog ni pon are your – fans?!?? so biased la the opinions. What support la like this? Actually, kemenyampahan with your attitude in ‘denial’ dah lama buat ramai yg meluat.

SN : Great enuff for me when u put my ex-clients as part of my followers. At least I know they love our works and will continue supporting my career. So great u ah? Macam ahli nujum boleh tahu semua kan?

Take it for a fact:

1. U really took the ‘easy’ ticket for ‘your so called glory’ by marrying the Dr. daughter of a an ex-dysfunctional Ketua Pengarah Pelajaran under a lame Menteri Pelajaran(we know who). U punye perangai ni sama mcm Khairy Jamaluddin je. The ‘Menantu’ ticket.

SN : I’m still here and u can say whatever u want to say. Just like me, and others

2. Marrying the daughter of a Datuk/Dato’/Tan Sri/Tun/Prince/King/Lapok/Keropok is ‘NOTHING TO BE PROUD OF OK???!!!’ Ur still a mere human. Unless u want to be a B.E.R.U.K? Thousands have been cross marrying between lower class-1st class citizens and no fuss about that? It only shows one thing – u are still merely K.A.M.P.O.N.G la sort of thinking by looking at these tittles instead of the merits of one’s personality and capability. Aha, dont try to credit yourself for starting as a kampung boy and kononnya made it BIG. You did cut corners as the first point above.

SN : Woww! I’m a wedding photographer and 95% of my company revenue came from wedding.

3. Why the need to blog about your bloody girly Beemer 320i underpowered gift car by your dad in law? Get a really charged up 325i M-sports, M3 or better of all, the 6-series la if u really can afford. Dont bother to cover up by telling readers that while people already drive Honda Accord, Merc, Beemers back then that you are still driving the ridiculous Kancil 660 because you are trying to be smart by not buying the dream car? Admit it, you can’t afford even until now that your wife is paying the monthly installment with her also ridiculous MMU low mow pay! WTF?!

SN : I dont want to comment this. U’re so shallow4. You really hate elitist, as what your photoblogs have been saying all these years. Fine. But your acts and attitude, shows that you are D.E.S.P.E.R.A.T.E.L.Y trying to become one yourself. Ironic.

SN : I dont want to comment this. U’re so shallow

5.You never admit your mistakes, and then you try to portray that you are so real in your effort. C’mon, you never stroke a ‘Million in Cash’. If you ever really did, of course it is because of the reason that was stated before, e.g. assistants from your daddy in law or that million is merely an accounting figure, of the total overhead costs of your company’s overhead. For an SME that size, I’d say, that is sooo sad. Sorry. Thats the truth.

SN : I dont want to comment this. U’re so shallow

Then lastly, it never even cost much money anyway to go to Paris. An economy class ticket is just around RM4k or RM5k the most if not lesser. What if you bought the tickets during MATTA Fair, which will only u, the one who can’t afford to buy a Full Fare Y-Class. to buy a V class or an M Class which is heavily discounted. You might got the RM0 ticket and just pay the taxes. Even a group of students, with their PTPTN loan can afford that. Again, dont show this kind of rubbish la. Next time, fly Business or First Class la. Thats true professionalism. Or I might be forgetting, you will term that attitude and seek reasons to it that flying Business Class is elitist. So you created the reason that you wont fly Business, not because that you cant afford it, but you tell others that you are being smart spending. Again, WTHell???

SN : I’m still flying economy class and AirAsia. So what’s the problem?

P/S: Get rid of the “Official Phographer for bla bla Sultan Brunei’s daughter footer la.” CS is not the ONLY photographer appointed by Istana Brunei during the royal wedding. Grow up la..macam budak2 put all this baseless salesman tactics. Truth is, better close down your company la.

SN: Check the fact with Jabatan Penerangan Brunei, can u?

………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….

Impressed with the English, but sad with the st*pid attitude. Good english now spoken by brainless people jugak sebenarnya. I don’t know who wrote that. But I know in the rest of the comments in that entry, it came majority from those who know me from the beginning. Their name is familiar and I know most of them. Who should we trust? someone wrote about us because they know us from our past time? or…someone that u never know who with the email address noneed@noemail.com

This morning, the time i packed-up my stuff to go to Melaka, I received this comment to be moderated. And it’s very very funny! Brainless thought, orang cerita lain dia paham lain. In my fotopage time, I don’t bother about this kind of comment. Once it appear I never delete it. No harm to my career at all. This time, I have choice to put approve it or not. But this time, i feel I like to highlight this. Because it’s funny! lagipun dah lamaaaaaa sangaatttt tak dpt komen macam ni 😀 Apa salahnya this time, I share with the reader kan. Padal dulu pun masa kat FP i tak pernah delete komen2 begini.

Travelog 2: Nanga Kesit Longhouse, Lubuk Antu Sarawak – by Saiful Nang

Travelog continued…

Lepas dah berlari2 turun ke sungai selepas nampak kelibat beberapa anak2 Iban ni mandi Sungai, then i hunted for this kind of pictures. I took more than 30 images and end-up showing here only 2-3 pictures. A few pictures I took from the low angle and with their wet body & shortpants, a lot of water spilled into my lens. luckily, i used the L series lenses by Canon. It’s weatherproof. Water spill wasn’t a problem there.

This photos I took on top of a dead tree trunk. They use this trunk as their diving board (Papan Anjal). The water is deep enuff for them (below 40kg ang below 150cm tall). But for most of us, it’s too shallow. Hence, I ended up with taking pictures only. Not to join them dive into the river,

Ahaa…forgot to tell you, over here you can enjoy a proper way to the “nature”. Unlike a few traditional one. Which require u to “Feed the Fishes” in the river. The toilet is well taken care.

This is the best part…food preparation. Our “Welcome Meal” has been prepared by the longhouse citizen by using their traditional method (knowing them, I bet this method isn’t a daily practice, i believe that they believe on the rice cooker hehehe). They wrapped the rice & chicken into a jungle leaves (i forgot to ask the specific name of the leaves).

This is the next step. They cooked the chicken and the rice in this bamboo. Zamrin told me it would take 8 hours to cook. Thanks god, Apai denied that and 1 hour later…..

We had our lunch already. Simple but for those hungry mammals, it was excellent already. That’s Sani in red, paling rakus in the picture, Zamrin, Putat and Andy (tak pandang orang dah, dia dah lapar sgt). This is what they called “Ayam Pansuh”. Few times I pronounced differently until somebody told me…the meaning is farrrrrrr different. I used to call it “Ayam Paloi”.

One of the Iban kids took a rest before continued to swim again. Here I’m impressed with those kids. They can swim like a fish. No wonder, a lot of athletes came from Sarawak. Then we moved to the longhouse. It was about 100 metres from the river and about 50 metres from our guesthouse. The guesthouse located in between river & the longhouse.

IN THE LONGHOUSE: 1 of the beautiful Ibanese girls. I tried to find 1 that’s more mature aka big enuff for some of us to bring home and show to their parents. However, we went there on Monday. Most of the big big girls stay in their school hostel (far from the longhouse) and some already off to work in Kuching and KL. They only come home during weekend. Kesian to those bujang2 yang ikut trip haritu, kempunan nak tengok anak dara iban.

Yang ada pun yang kecik2 ni lah. Well, that’s ok. For some of them they can start grooming them into someone that can fit the criteria hehehhe. This wasn’t an easy thing to photograph them like this. By nature, they are ENTREMELY CAMERA SHY. I know this through my experience shooting orang asli Mahmeri & Batik at Taman Negara Pahang about 2 years ago. As what I plan, i give them “Candies”. I bought it near Seri Aman. They become familiar and friendly. Now dah boleh main ambik2 gambar di rumah panjang. Tips: Lepas ambik gambar, tunjukkan kat deorang, baru dia happy sampai tergelak2 macam ni.

Gotcha! caught by my camera after he woke-up from his afternoon nap. He’s one of the old generation in Nanga Kesit.

Used to be a warrior at his young age. This is the typical Ibanese old generation. They have tattoo all over the body. The tattoo signify brave and high fighting spirit. Iban people are well known with their fighting spirit. 1 good example was Kanang anak Langkau. If u realise, a lot of them now work with Army.

The young generation they don’t really interested in tattooing their body as much as the old generation did. This is the typical view in the longhouse. During my stay in the longhouse, i only discovered 2 young couples in there. Surprisingly, the rest are working outside. Surprisingly, a lot of them from this longhouse turned to be great engineers, doctors, designers, architects, businessman and many more. The only time you can see them all is during “GAWAI”.

THE GUESTHOUSE: After that longhouse tour, we headed back to this guest house and now…Aki was preparing our dinner. Watch Aki cooked the dinner in Travelog 3. A special dinner in the middle of a jungle and it’s HALAL! Tunguuuu…….

I bought it myself!

Gambar di Paris bersama my wife, Adik (sis in-law) dan Fan (fan from Malaysia in France), my working trip ke Paris ni pun jadi issue orang cakap my in-law family kaya sgt boleh sponsor SEMUA orang pegi holiday

Look…

Open your eyes wider…

Sekarang jawap apa perasaan anda jika anda ditempat saya?

Apa perasaan anda?…apa pula perasaan saya?

MARAHHHHH LAHHH!!

With all my hardwork and sleepless years, I stroke my 1st million few days before I got married. There was no shortcut. I sacrificed a lot of things. Semasa rakan2 sebaya dah mula beli kereta2 executive spt Honda, Waja, Chevvy, Ford saya masih lagi bawa Perodua Kancil 660. Rasanya setiap pengorbanan mesti ada ganjarannya. Alhamdulillah, masa susah dah berlalu, sekarang masa senang dah tiba.

Kebetulan pulak orang yg saya berkenan tu anak datuk (saya x pernah tanya pun, saya cuma tau saya suka wife saya) dan kahwin. Kalau betul, saya happy jer…masalahnya, tak betul. Kita berhempas pulas, orang deny capabilities kita pulak. Benda ni bukan melibatkan saya sorang, in-law saya (kini dah bersara, in fact few month lepas saya kahwin dgn anak dia, dia pun bersara dan tadek power apa2 pun utk bg kontrak kat saya) pun terpalit juga. Selamat 30 tahun lebih dlm perkhidmatan awam, my father in-law ni terkenal dgn orang yg straight takde bengkok2.
